Boo!

Martha Stewart inspired jack-o'-lanterns.

Meringue bones (Martha again). I didn't have the called for pastry tip to pipe these out with, but had a smaller one, so I made a bunch of mini bones and used them to decorate this cake (which, incidentally, is a perfect chocolate cake. I can't imagine ever bothering with another chocolate cake recipe again. It's that good!)

Cheshire Cat (who later grew some whiskers during a nap, the only possible time I could get away with drawing on her face).

Plus Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts.

I love my tiny crown. I don't love the fly swatter back there in the background. Gross.

Hedgehog + Hiatus

Here's a funny little hedgehog I just made using this free pattern. His snout seems to look especially long in the photo! On second thought, I think it really is that funny-looking.

Unrelated, I've decided to take a little break from blogging for a spell. I imagine it won't last more than a month or so, and I might stop in during that time to atleast share a Halloween photo or two (costumes are still being worked on, but looking good so far!). I just have a few things (artsy-craftsy) in the works that need my attention, plus want to have lots more, so am trying to really buckle down and make use of my free time to that end.

*Okay, so I cheated a tad here...I think this was a little more than a week ago. Somehow this week flew by almost entirely un-photo-documented.

Monday Morel

Turns out, too late, that I'm not so keen on the border. I think I'd like this better with no border and just a spacious background of the faint blue-green. I may still add a name, to properly label my specimen. Somewhere I have a little drawing my mom drew of a morel when she was about my age, maybe a little younger. I will post it if I ever find it. I'm anticipating more mushrooms will be coming soon.
